Exercise Physiology services at Total Physiotherapy is run by our Exercise Physiologists Laura Starc and Chloe Butler. They use evidence-based research to prescribe and implement exercise as a health intervention. When prescribed via the correct modalities and dosages, exercise physiology can be a powerful tool to improve the health status of many chronic conditions. Exercise Physiologists can also be an integral part of musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Additional Services and Support 

Additional Services and Support 

  • NDIS Services: Access exercise physiology through your NDIS funding to improve daily function, independence, and overall well-being. Our team can offer home visits or meet you at a local facility to support your NDIS goals. 
  • Workcover, CTP, and Life Insurance Treatment: With doctor and insurer approval, exercise physiology can assist in your rehabilitation from musculoskeletal injuries and provide mental health support. Speak to your doctor or insurer about engaging exercise physiology for your recovery. 
  • Medicare Services: For those with chronic or complex conditions, Medicare rebates may be available through a Team Care Arrangement (TCA). Those managing diabetes can also access up to 8 group sessions under Medicare. 
  • Private Health Insurance: Check with your health fund to see if you are eligible for subsidised one-on-one or group sessions with an Exercise Physiologist. 

 

If you’re unsure where to start or want to make sure you’re on the right track, we offer Fitness Check assessments to evaluate your current health and fitness status. During this one-hour assessment, our Exercise Physiologists will test your physical capacities, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and develop an individualised action plan to guide you on your path to a healthier, more active life.
